Henry Popplewell
Senior Vice President and General Manager
Henry has more than 20 years executive sales experience and a proven track record of driving revenue growth and improving customer loyalty. Henry was most recently at SkyTel, where he oversaw sales and distribution. He has successful sales and operations experience in high growth technology startups and Fortune 250 corporations across multiple industries including: wireless telecommunications, logistics/ supply chain, transportation, software as a service (SaaS), and e-commerce. In his role as the Vice-President of National Sales at Nextel, Henry conceived and built the first vertical industry sales model in wireless communications. He is a recognized expert in mobile technologies with a focus on GPS/tracking and resource management (MRM) applications, frequently speaking at industry tradeshows and analyst events. Prior to his tenure at Nextel, Henry spent over 20 years with Ryder Systems Inc., most recently as Vice President of National Sales.
Henry holds a B.A. in Accounting from the University of Scranton, Pennsylvania.
George Mercuro
Senior Vice President, Finance
George has over 20 years of Accounting and Financial management experience ranging from a Fortune 500 financial services company to a major systems integrator. George joined SkyBitz in 2003 and was instrumental in developing the accounting and financial systems infrastructure for the company as well as raising investment capital for SkyBitz. Prior to SkyBitz, George served as President and CEO of MindShare Corporation, a professional services company specializing in groupware applications and Business Process Re-engineering to Fortune 500 companies. George also served as Chief Financial Officer of STMS, a systems integrator to the federal government. George started his career with Sallie Mae, a leading provider of Student Loans, as a financial analyst and accountant.
George holds a B.S. degree in Accounting from the University of Florida and is a Virginia, Certified Public Accountant.
Uday Shankar
Vice President, Product Development and Operations
Uday has over 20 years of experience in wireless and network applications development lifecycle. Mr. Shankar joined SkyBitz in 1999 and has held numerous positions in the company. From 2001-2009 he served as Director, Software Engineering, leading design, development and operations of the communications and software infrastructure, software applications and integration services. Since 2009, he served as Vice President, Advanced Technologies and Solutions, working with customers and partners, developing customized solutions and assessing new technologies. Prior to joining SkyBitz, he was at CleanScreen, an internet start-up building high speed search engines, web and email filters, and network security applications. Uday has held various positions in leading engineering, telecommunications and network solution companies.
Uday holds an MSEE from the University of Maryland at College Park.
Steve AuBuchon
Vice President, Marketing and Product Line Management
Steve has more than 20 years of experience in marketing, product management, sales and business development, most recently as VP of Product Management at TerreStar Networks where he and his team developed the industries first fully integrated cellular/satellite Smartphone. Mr. AuBuchon was the VP of Product Management at a “Mobile Marketing” start-up that developed a patented Embedded Mobile Advertising Platform which enabled the delivery of targeted content to the mobile device based on user’s interest, history and location. Previously, Steve served as Vice President of Marketing at XO Communication where he managed numerous product launches, drove customer acquisition campaigns and managed customer retention programs. He has also held other executive and management positions at Verizon, MCI and AT&T.
Steve holds an M.B.A. from DePaul University and a B.S. from Arizona State University.
Siamak Azmoudeh
Vice President, Partner Sales
Siamak has more than 25 years of experience in the transportation and adjacent industries. He was formerly Vice President at Pegasus TransTech in Tampa, Fla., and was responsible for software sales, product roadmap, and development. He also led IT operations and infrastructure, and oversaw the support and operation of corporate and redundant data centers. Prior to joining Pegasus TransTech, Siamak was CIO for Quality Distribution Inc., (QLTY), a $700 million tank truck carrier. Previously, he was the Sales Engineering Manager of Land Transportation Electronics (LTE), a division of Rockwell International (ROK), providing mobile communications and onboard computing to the trucking industry. Siamak started his trucking career with Tri-State Motor Transit.
Siamak holds a B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering from George Washington University.
