Partnership Increases Mobile Satellite Services

Two satellite-based communications firms recently announced a partnership to develop a unique, remote asset tracking and monitoring system for the machine-to-machine market. Iridium Communications, a provider of mobile satellite services, will integrate its Iridium 9602 satellite data transceiver with the SkyBitz global locating system. The new solution will feature a small, lightweight and low-cost transceiver that enables two-way satellite links for low-latency, real-time data transmission.
