SkyBitz Launches Trackthetree.com; Tracking of 2009 Capitol Christmas Tree

With the Capitol Christmas Tree’s journey to the U.S. Capitol beginning today, SkyBitz announced the launch of TracktheTree.com, a Web portal designed to provide real-time tracking of the tree’s 3,000-mile journey.

The new-look TracktheTree.com will provide the American public with a platform to witness some of the events surrounding this year’s tree. SkyBitz will provide tracking data, complete with a detailed street-level map of the most recent location, via its satellite-based tracking solution.

"Trackthetree.com will not only allow folks to follow the tree’s journey, but to also become an interactive participant in the experience."

New features to TracktheTree.com in 2009 include: photo galleries from the Capitol Christmas Tree Caravan; blog entries from this year’s celebration; fun facts about many of the Capitol Christmas Tree celebration locations; opportunities to interact with Capitol Christmas Tree followers on Facebook and Twitter; and information about how SkyBitz is tracking the Capitol Christmas Tree.

The Capitol Christmas Tree will leave Eagar, Ariz., this morning and will tour the state of Arizona for ten days before visiting: Amarillo, Texas; Tulsa, Okla.; Branson, Mo.; Nashville, Tenn.; Roanoke, Va.; and Chevy Chase, Md. The tree will arrive in Washington, D.C., on November 30, with the tree lighting ceremony, hosted by Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, scheduled for the week of December 7.
