SkyBitz President and CEO to Speak at SOLE 2010 Annual International Logistics Conference
Homaira Akbari to Address “Security through Asset Management”
STERLING, Va. – August 10, 2010 – SkyBitz®, the leader in remote asset tracking and information management solutions, today announced Homaira Akbari, President and CEO, will speak at the SOLE 2010 Annual International Logistics Conference in Dallas, TX. Dr. Akbari will present on “Security through Asset Management,” on August 18th and participate in an expert panel discussing “Tradeoffs in Information Sharing and Protection,” on August 19th.
Dr. Akbari’s session on “Security through Asset Management,” will discuss how using a bi-directional satellite communication system that has an ultra low power consumption profile, combined with other key protocols, platforms and devices (e.g. Zigbee, RFID, GSM, etc), enables seamless integration of asset tracking technology into an organization’s supply chain; providing complete asset visibility.
Dr. Akbari will also join fellow expert panelists to discuss, “Tradeoffs in Information Sharing and Protection.” Specifically, the panel will look at how the global security challenges subsequent to the September, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon precipitated a critical look at the need to share information – yet we still face major challenges in balancing the need to share information for decision making with data protection. The panel will not only address where we are today in balancing these challenges, but also discuss the implications this dilemma has on both the development and sustainability of logistics information systems.
