SkyBitz to Track the 2010 Capitol Christmas Tree

Company’s Satellite-based Tracking Solution to Provide Detailed Updates on the Tree’s Journey to the Nation’s Capitol at www.TracktheTree.com

STERLING, Va. – November 3, 2010 – SkyBitz®, the leader in remote asset tracking and information management solutions, today announced that it will once again provide real-time tracking of the Capitol Christmas Tree’s cross country journey to the Nation’s Capitol at www.TracktheTree.com. Using its satellite-based tracking solution, SkyBitz will provide tracking data, complete with a detailed street-level map of the tree’s current location.

In addition to tracking information, TracktheTree.com will include photo galleries from the Capitol Christmas Tree Caravan; blog entries from this year’s celebration; fun facts about many of the Capitol Christmas Tree tour stops; opportunities to interact with Capitol Christmas Tree followers on Facebook and Twitter; and information about how SkyBitz is tracking the Capitol Christmas Tree.

"We are proud to continue our involvement in the Capitol Christmas Tree’s delivery and provide the American public with a platform to witness the events surrounding this year’s tree," said Craig Montgomery, senior vice president, marketing and business development, SkyBitz. "While it would be nice to have the tree stop in all 50 states and have the whole country physically involved, it is just not feasible. Trackthetree.com brings the excitement of the tour home to everyone, and allows them to become an interactive participant, regardless of whether or not the tree stops in their home town."

The Capitol Christmas Tree will begin its 4,600 mile journey from Wyoming’s Bridger-Teton National Forest to Washington, D.C. on November 10th and will arrive in the Nation’s Capitol on November 29th. After touring Wyoming for ten days, the 2010 Capitol Christmas Tree will embark upon its cross country tour with key stops in South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Tennessee, Georgia, Virginia, Pennsylvania and Maryland. The tree lighting ceremony, hosted by Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, will be held on December 7th.

"As we make this journey across the nation, we are looking forward to sharing a bit of Wyoming and our theme of ‘Forever West’ with the rest of the country,” said Mary Cernicek, Public Affairs Officer and Capitol Christmas Tree Coordinator 2010 for Bridger-Teton National Forest. “This special partnership with Skybitz helps us share this special tree with a greater population."
