Keep an Eye on your Battery Status

SkyBitz has simplified battery maintenance. You can determine the health of your Mobile Terminals battery packs with just the click of your mouse. Simply log in to your SkyBitz InSight account and navigate to the "Analyze Assets" tab.

Understanding your Battery Life

The remaining battery life for each Mobile Terminal is stored and available for viewing on SkyBitz InSight. Estimated battery life for each unit, based on its network profiles and the last battery replacement date, is also available.

The battery life of your Mobile Terminals is grouped into one of four categories. The categories are:

• GREEN - Estimate at more than 365 days remaining
• YELLOW - Estimated between 240 and 365 days remaining
• ORANGE - Estimate at less than 240 days remaining
• RED - Estimated at less than 90 days remaining

Immediate battery replacement is recommended on any Mobile Terminal that falls into the RED category. Learn more about the SkyBitz battery Life in this training video.

Purchasing Replacement Batteries

Because standard lithium AA cells are used, SkyBitz replacement batteries are inexpensive compared to lead acid and nickel metal hydride rechargeable batteries. Obtaining replacement batteries can be done in one of four different ways.

Replacing the Battery Yourself

Replacement of batteries can be performed in less than 10 minutes by simply removing two screws holding the battery cover on the Mobile Terminal enclosure. The custom packaging of this battery makes for easy replacement.

Outsourcing Battery Replacement

Some companies chose not to do their own battery replacement due to operational constraints or strategic reasons. That is why SkyBitz has ensured that replacement batteries are also stocked by 165 Travel Centers of America locations across the United States.
