Panic ButtonSkyBitz has a solution to secure your fleet and protect your customer’s valuable cargo. Our Panic Mode feature and SkyFence technology enable our Lockdown Mode to keep your asset protected at any time day or night.

SkyBitz Panic Mode

A Panic Mode request may be sent to a mobile terminal if you have lost contact with your driver, the asset has moved outside its designated SkyFence or your asset is not where it is supposed to be when viewing it in the SkyBitz InSight web interface. Upon submission of the Panic Mode request, your asset’s mobile terminal will start to report its position every 3 minutes, allowing you to track its exact location depending on unit configuration.

There are different ways within SkyBitz InSight to initiate a Panic Mode request. You can learn more about this feature in the Panic Mode Training Video.

SkyBitz SkyFencing

The SkyBitz InSight web application enables customers to set up their SkyFence by creating landmarks. These landmarks are latitude/longitude positions corresponding to points of interest (shipper and consignee locations, yards, maintenance facilities, fuel stops, ports of entry, etc.).

You can configure circular or polygonal (irregular shape) SkyFences around a landmark position within SkyBitz InSight. A circular SkyFence can have a configurable radius between 0.25 and 50 miles. A polygonal SkyFence can be drawn in an irregular fashion to create precisely-defined landmarks covering an area from a few hundred square feet to hundreds of square miles.

As monitored assets enter and exit the SkyFence perimeters and report their positions, arrival and departure notifications are sent via email (optional). SkyFence status changes may be sent to any cellular phone or pager having a standard email address as well.

Additionally, SkyFence functionality can monitor international border crossings. You can receive optional email notifications and higher reporting rate profiles while assets operate in a foreign country.

You can learn more about these features in the Circular Landmarks Training Video and Multipoint Landmarks Training Video.

SkyBitz Lockdown

When a SkyBitz Mobile Terminal is placed into Lockdown Mode, an alert is sent when the asset moves outside its pre-determined SkyFence. At that point, the mobile terminal automatically goes into Panic Mode. While in panic mode, location information is sent every 3 minutes until the issue is resolved. The Lockdown feature is only available on SkyBitz Mobile Terminals that are equipped and configured with our Smart Sensor (e.g. motion / event based reporting). Contact your SkyBitz sales representative for more information on Smart Sensor reporting.

You can learn more about this feature in this Lockdown Training Video.
