Company’s Renowned Solution to Provide Continuous Tracking of the Tree from Alaska at www.TracktheTree.com

HERNDON, Va./ Seward, AK – October 27, 2015 SkyBitz®, the leader in remote asset tracking and information management solutions, today announced that for the eighth year, it will provide real-time tracking of the Capitol Christmas Tree’s cross country journey to the Nation’s Capitol at www.TracktheTree.com. The 2015 Capitol Christmas Tree will begin its more than 4,000 mile cross country journey by land and sea from the Chugach National Forest in Alaska on October 27. This is the first time the U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree will come from Alaska. The tour will start with a community celebration in Seward, Alaska and then make its way to Anchorage, where it will go on ship to Seattle, before starting its nation-wide over-the-road tour that includes approximately 13 community celebrations across the U.S. with key stops in Missoula, MT; Sheridan, WY; Rapid City, SD; La Vista, NE; South Bend, IN; Findlay, OH; Chillicothe, OH; Andrews Air Force Base, MD. The tree will arrive at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. on November 20, 2015. The tree lighting ceremony, hosted by the U.S. Speaker of the House, will be held in early December.

"We are proud to support this tradition for the eighth year and look forward to creating a unique opportunity for the American public to follow along virtually on the U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree Tour and partake in the many unique activities during its various community events," said Henry Popplewell, President, SkyBitz. "The website we created, TracktheTree.com, allows everyone the opportunity to celebrate the spirit of the season and the forests that connect us all, regardless of where they are located.”

“This historic journey is only possible with the help of strong community partnerships throughout Alaska and beyond state lines,” said Bruce Ward, founder of Choose Outdoors. “We’re grateful for the time and resources SkyBitz is providing to help make this the best tour to date.”

In addition to providing the latest location information, TracktheTree.com will include photo galleries from the Capitol Christmas Tree Cutting Ceremony and events, as well as fun facts about many of the tour stops.
