SkyBitz has the longest battery life in the transportation industry. Instead of 30- to 60-day rechargeable batteries, the SkyBitz Mobile Terminal can operate for years on the same internal battery pack. The SkyBitz GLS Mobile Terminal finds the position of a trailer at the SkyBitz Data Center, which has essentially unlimited power and computing resources. Other providers utilize traditional GPS chipset-based communicators that are not at all well-suited for installation on assets that remain un-tethered and un-powered over long periods.

Communication on the SkyBitz GLS network is bi-directional — you can reconfigure the unit remotely using our online software, and then it reports directly back to you. The GLS position reporting schedule and periodic wake-up interval to accept new assignments are configurable over the air to provide the most flexibility for various applications. Additional GLS position updates can be scheduled by issuing Pages, Profile Changes or Panic Operations from your desktop. And there are myriad GLS service plan choices available.

The SkyBitz Mobile Terminal is an all-in-one, self-contained, integrated unit (electronics, antennae and battery). The design ensures that the Mobile Terminal can withstand the harshest environments, including temperature, shock, spray, salt, sand, dust and steam. Installation is simple, and can be completed in minutes by trained personnel. No wiring, invasive drilling or cutting into the wall of the trailer is required for basic tracking applications.

SkyBitz knows that only satellite communication can provide seamless North American coverage. The SkyBitz network leverages an L-band satellite in geosynchronous orbit to provide coverage throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico, in cities as well as the countryside. There are no "dead zones", as is the case with cellular-based providers.
