McLeod Software Releases LoadMaster and PowerBroker Version 11.0

Fleet Owner

April 11, 2012

McLeod Software released LoadMaster Enterprise and PowerBrokerPowerBroker Version 11.0., which includes enhancements such as service failure analysis and a lane analysis tool, as well as new third-party integration solutions.

Analysis tools for service level history will give carriers and brokers insight into historical information about how customers are being served and the context for measuring those service levels against a variety of key factors and variables that they can control.

"Service failure analysis is becoming more and more important for both carriers and brokers," says McLeod spokesperson Caroline Lyle. "While everywhere rates seem to be rising, the key differentiator in competing for the best customers is shifting from just rates to service performance."

The process of offering and accepting loads has been streamlined and further automated for outside carriers along with enhancements to the PowerBroker internet portal for customers and carriers. Brokers can also quickly see comprehensive up to the minute load offer and acceptance history for each carrier.

A lane analysis tool has also been added to PowerBroker to allow brokers to analyze their lanes by carrier margins, letting brokers create their own lane rate index for any market they serve.

"This is a big part of the strategic decision-making process," Lyle explains. "Understanding where to put your energy and resources, seeing the right places in the cold light of margins, is one of the critical functions that business intelligence must fulfill for senior management in these companies."

There are nearly a dozen enhancements for the McLeod financial solution, integral to both the LoadMaster and PowerBroker products. Companies can now set up statistical accounts in their general ledger to do cost rollups and establish cost centers with greater ease. Financial reports from the system can now calculate ratios of accounting data to non‐accounting data such as drivers, employees, customers, tractors, miles, and other variables.

New integration solutions for Internet Truckstop, Tenstreet, Macropoint Lite, Blue Tree Systems, and iBright have been added, as well. The existing LoadMaster integration solutions for mobile communications suppliers Qualcomm and Xata have been enhanced and expanded in this release.

There's significant growth in the number of trailer tracking and monitoring systems, which is now up to nine, including GE, Qualcomm, Skybitz, StarTrak, Transcore, PAR Logistics, CarrierWeb, International Telematics, and Bluetree.

Both the LoadMaster Enterprise and PowerBroker version 11.0 releases will begin shipping immediately.

Denver, CO (PRWEB) March 28, 2012
Prime Trailer Leasing has forged a partnership with SkyBitz, a GPS asset tracking company that is well known within the industry. This partnership will help bring a higher level of service to Prime Trailer Leasing's already large fleet of dry vans, flatbeds and refrigerated trailers. Equipping their late-model dry van rentals and refrigerated trailers with GPS tracking units provided by SkyBitz will further help benefit the customers they have served for many years. Customers who take advantage of these GPS tracking units will be able to receive a location on their rented trailers once a day, and will also be able to "ping" the trailers to allow instant locating when they need them. Industry experts know that an idle trailer is a liability and keeping assets in motion, and working towards the bottom line is critical to the annual success of any profitable company. These Skybitz GPS units will help companies reach that goal while taking the guess work out of locating units.

In addition to the above mentioned functionality, customers will be able to group assets by location or by asset ID, and will also be able to know when trailers are crossing state or country borders.

Prime Trailer Leasing has seen great early results with their customers who have taken advantage of these services and they are excited to server their customers with greater effectiveness and service.

SkyBitz Launches Comprehensive Tracking Solution for Intermodal Industry

New State-of-the-Art Intermodal Tracking Solution Solves Industry’s Biggest Challenges at a Low Cost of Ownership

HERNDON, Va. – March 13, 2012 – SkyBitz®, the leading remote asset tracking and information management solutions provider, today announced its next generation solution for the intermodal industry, for the first time offering two-way global tracking and monitoring. The state-of-the-art SkyBitz Galaxy Series uses patented Global Locating System (GLS) technology to track the location and status of intermodal assets, providing intermodal operators visibility of their assets’ entire chain of events - from the arrival and departure from customer sites to all events occurring in between.

One of the biggest challenges the intermodal industry faces is obtaining complete visibility for tracking assets without an external power source because assets move from various transportation modes like trucks, rail, etc. Device design, low-cost, and low power consumption make the SkyBitz Galaxy Series ideal for the intermodal industry. The Galaxy Series enables business operations to have total visibility of their assets for years at a time without having to connect to a power source. In addition, managers can program reporting requirements with the device to have it shut it off for periods of time and geographic zones like when the asset is on rail, to save even more power and unnecessary reporting, creating a lower cost of ownership and easy maintenance.

The Galaxy Series intermodal solution is designed to provide ultimate ease and flexibility in installation, maintenance and operation. It is built rugged to withstand harsh environments, is easy to install (on average taking 30 minutes or less), and the external antenna allows for flexible and stealth installations. Built for better efficiency, the Galaxy Series supports more streamlined reporting processes, intelligent messages for better visibility of business operations and faster, richer information about the asset and its environment. The solution also allows for cargo status data via sensors and more intelligent and responsive self diagnostics, allowing for over the air troubleshooting.

The feature-rich characteristics of the SkyBitz Galaxy Series allow intermodal businesses to improve customer satisfaction through security and accountability, reduction of delays, and improving on time delivery. The solution also aids businesses to proactively monitor and identify any potential issues before they disrupt a customer’s supply chain. In addition it can help intermodal businesses to become more competitive with long haul truckload carriers through improved operating efficiencies by increasing revenue loads per trailer, reducing turn cycle times and ensuring optimal operating conditions.

This expectation is founded on the new, lower cost satellite data devices that have become available in recent years, as well as the innovative solutions that have enabled providers such as SPOT to open up completely new consumer opportunities for MSS. Many in the industry believe that a continuing stream of innovations will support both expansion of current key market segments (transportation, heavy equipment, asset tracking) and development of new opportunities and thus expect that robust satellite M2M revenue growth will continue over the next decade. However, it remains uncertain how the satellite M2M market will be impacted by the new dual mode satellite-terrestrial chipsets being developed by Qualcomm and Hughes or whether specialist satellite chipsets will continue to provide the optimum solution for end users.

Satellite 2012 is an event for the satellite communications industry, where attendees can immerse themselves in sessions and drill deep into topics of importance with panels, roundtables and user discussions led by thought-leaders, pioneers and innovators in the global satellite marketplace.
