SkyBitz Introduces the Falcon GXT2000; A New Custom Built Terrestrial Solution for Unpowered Asset Management & Tracking
SkyBitz Further Expands the Broadest M2M Asset Management Solution Set in the Market
HERNDON, Va.–September 22, 2014– SkyBitz®, the leader in remote asset tracking and information management solutions, today announced the Falcon Series GXT2000, a custom built global positioning satellite (GPS) asset tracking solution for 3G/4G cellular networks with seamless North American coverage. The Falcon GXT2000 tracks the location and status of assets without an external power source throughout the entire chain of events – including arrival and departure from customer sites and all events occurring in between. With this launch, SkyBitz further expands its product portfolio, the largest in the machine-to-machine (M2M) mobile asset management market, and is able to provide additional cost-effective solutions for complete asset visibility to its customers. When combined with the SkyBitz as a Service platform, customers can start a faster deployment to their entire fleet with no upfront cost thereby providing a faster return on investment.
Device design, low-cost, and long battery life make the SkyBitz Falcon GXT2000 ideal for operations requiring reporting for years at a time on the status of unpowered assets such as intermodal containers, chassis, and trailers for increased visibility, security and utilization management. The Falcon GXT2000 was built upon the same platform as the award winning Falcon GXT3000 and delivers accurate location and status information that allows customers to reduce unnecessary capital expenses for trailer or asset purchases and improve fleet capacity. In addition, the solution enables customers to react quickly to any unexpected supply chain disruptions or new capacity or business demands.
“We are committed to revolutionizing the way businesses optimize, manage and protect their assets,” said Henry Popplewell, Senior Vice President and General Manager, SkyBitz. “Through offering the broadest portfolio of industry leading products, combined with the SkyBitz as a Service subscription platform, customers can more quickly deploy the best solution fitted to their unique needs without any upfront investment.”
The Falcon GXT2000 was designed to provide ultimate ease and flexibility in installation and operation, taking less than 30 minutes on average to install. Encased in a weatherproof housing and IP67 rated, its components are protected from harsh elements. Instant installation verification is provided via built-in LEDs, eliminating any guesswork. The product is energy efficient and can be programed to shut off when in a specific geographic zone or for periods of time to conserve power, for example when a container is on rail. The Falcon GXT2000 also allows for cargo status data via sensors and more intelligent and responsive self-diagnostics, allowing for over the air troubleshooting.
As with all SkyBitz products, information from the GXT2000 is delivered to end-users via SkyBitz InSight, a best-in-class asset management tool for tracking, monitoring and managing a broad range of assets for multiple industries. SkyBitz InSight has an adaptable application program interface (API) that can accept data feeds from any other system. Built within SkyBitz InSight, Insight Trends provides better visibility into asset performance whereby users can quickly analyze large data sets and view them in a more effective and intuitive way to maximize utilization and profits.
